Roman road north-east of Augusta Emerita (Trujillanos stretch)
A stretch of Roman road recorded some 7 km north-east of Mérida, in the municipality of Trujillanos, in the same sector through which the Las Tomas and Cornalvo water conduits ran towards the city.

What it is and what is left
It forms part of the sheaf of roads radiating from Augusta Emerita, capital of the province of Lusitania and one of the great road junctions of Hispania. Two possible axes converge in this quadrant: the Via XXIV, which ran north towards Asturica Augusta — the so-called Vía de la Plata, with stretches catalogued somewhat further west — and the Via XXV, which left towards the east-north-east in the direction of Toletum and Caesaraugusta. With the information available it is not possible to assign this stretch with confidence to either, nor to rule out that it is a secondary service track tied to the water conduits, which are very common in this area.
No monographic study of this particular stretch has been found. There is no visible road surface. Location approximate, on the line of the road.
